Growing up, Rose didn’t have a loving family. She was often deprived of food and severely beaten by her father. At the age of 14, her father forcibly committed her into a mental hospital. After running away from the hospital, Rose hit the streets and joined a street gang. She was later arrested and sent to jail. After her experience in jail, Rose vowed to change her life. She left the streets and found that one’s situation can improve if they put in the effort. Today, Dr. Rose Jones has both a college degree and a doctorate and is the Director of Evaluation at the Perot Museum. This is the story of how she overcome the odds and went from being homeless to becoming a doctor.
